Job Description:
The Technician (Cyber Security) is responsible for supporting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of agency systems and services. This role focuses on cyber security awareness, compliance, accreditation support, incident response, and vulnerability assessments. The technician will serve as the primary contact for endpoint security management, firewall monitoring, and network solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply and maintain security measures based on organizational policies and risk assessments.
- Support investigations of security incidents and breaches.
- Perform technical assessments of systems against policies and business objectives.
- Execute operational procedures using automation tools and contribute to system maintenance.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and escalate issues as needed.
- Manage access controls for firewalls and endpoint security solutions.
Requirements:
- Education: Secondary qualification with 4 years of relevant experience.
- Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in implementing and maintaining cyber security systems.
- Experience administering and monitoring security software.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve technical issues independently.
- Preferred Certifications: CEH, GIAC, ISC2, or equivalent.
